One of my favorite fashion women in this world is Cassie.

Sure some may argue about her talent (I LOVE official girl), but she’s got the body of a model and looks good in just about anything she throws on. Her style is impeccable and I’m officially a fan because of it.

8d19c950 She wears LIME green and kills it! I’m sorry but not everyone can pull of bright colors.

cassiegucci Another example of her colorrificness.

SPL62001_001She also really rocks the rocker leather look which I’m really starting to get into.

cassie-2 Being a shoe girl myself I must admit that her shoe collection is amazing and I am constantly in search of the shoes she has…

Singer Cassie attend the launch of Madison Square Garden's new series "NYC Sound Tracks" at Metrazur Restaurant in Grand Central Terminal on July 1, 2008 in New York City. For instance, I begged for these Valentino shoes as soon as I saw them on her. What’s good for Cassie is good for me.

cassie-1 I also like that she can be daring and sexy without looking skanky. Although granted you can’t do that shirt if your Vicky Secrets is a size C and above.

cassie1 Another example of classy not trashy.

My final reason that I love Cassie’s style is that she’s not afraid to be bold. I can live vicariously through her until I decide to come out of my shell.

prada screening outside 090908Short length, a bunch of colors- it works!

cassie This outfit is not for everyone. I repeat:

cassiebootsPatent leather thigh high boots!!!! It works though because she keeps the rest simple and let’s the boots do the talking.

Anyhoo- hope your day has been fun, fabulous and fashionable.

Until next time, grosses bises

I thought I would share with you one of my favorite places on the net. I’m a Gucci, Christian Lacroix girl… I’m a Gap, Anthropologie girl too. I still love finding places on the path less taken to find cute clothing that you probably won’t see other people wearing. Unfortunately the task of finding all of these deliciously tasty places is just too much for the working (studying) girl so viola! Daily Candy has stepped in to fill my need.

Customized to your individual city needs, Daily Candy offers a plethora of tips on the hottest stores, websites, weekend plans and travel guides. Not to mention great sale advice. All it takes is signing up your email to get the tidbits to you daily. So… what are you waiting for? Come on in, the water is fine and fashionable.

The one trend I’m latching onto this week and not letting go is lace.

Lace jackets, lace shirts, lace tights… you name it. I want it. It’s uberfeminine, sexy, and can be safe for work and work functions if you play your cards right. And by right I mean not skanky.

This dress for instance by Thurley $695, is not safe for work:

May I also add that we not pair it with silver pumps? Let the dress do the talking and keep it simple.

This top by Diane Von Furstenburg $275

is very safe for work provided you pair with a nice pair of slaks or a skirt, a cardigan, and a belt.

Another safe for work option is this jacket by Marc by Marc Jacobs $470:

which I would personally dress up for a night of sushi and drinks with some skinny black or silver jeans, a white tee and some tall black heels.

All of these of course can be mixed and matched with some cheaper items, as well as you can finnd similar items for not so steep prices (i’d check forever 21 and h&m first).

til next time- grosses bises.

Thou Shalt Not Covet…

I’ll be the first to admit…. I shop like there’s a Princess title in front of my name. I’d rather starve than go without a pair of cute shoes and I’d surely trade a few of my love ones for this week’s Muse Must Have… Just kidding. Kind of.

I’m not trendy.. or rather rarely. But I really want a pair of booties. Ok a few pairs and these by Chloe are running the game…. A little peekaboo and alotta sex appeal. My type of shoe!

Chloe Key Hole Bootie

It’s Jacket season! Only my most favorite time of the year and I’m a junkie for anything military and really funky and Milly and Moschino are peaking my interests…

This coat is a clear reminder that military need not be associated with all things masculine. It’s the yin and the yang: the puffy feminine sleeves combined with a structured jacket.

This is my #1 favorite item this week. While granted my mother (the anti-fashion) would tell me that I could take my paintbrush and have a white coat without coating her A.Express with Moschino… I say this is the one coat that you don’t need to dress up. A colorful scarf and some leather gloves and you’re set for the cold winter! I know I’m excited.

I’m not one for purses that scream at anybody who passes by, but the Gucci Babouska collection have some bags that have been screaming my name. I think the key to wearing these bags, or any really “heavy” bag is the rest of your outfit must be simple. Wear too much at one time and look out for yourself in Glamour’s “Don’t” section. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

my final must this season is straight off the runway and just in time for turkey holiday with the relatives. Looking at the pretty pattern on your shoulder will help distract from those awful questions by your great aunt sophie about when you’re getting married…. thanks Erdem.

til next time…. grosses bises.

Hello World and welcome to my world….

An amazing friend of mine has been talking to me about how I needed to start a fashion blog and instead of resisting… I’m compromising. This blog will be a lot of fashion but I warn- I am not fashionable. I’m would like to describe myself and fashion mistaken. I kind of stumble into fashions by way of dressing myself in things I like by sticking to my 4code of fashion. My 4code of fashion is essentially what you’ll catch me in…. cute jeans, a white beater, a jacket and the best pair of shoes I can find on the market. Now don’t get me wrong I like to spice it up a bit, but if Vogue asked me what typical outfit is… that would be it. In my tiny little apartment I have 2 closets in my bedroom and both are filled with jeans and shoes. Sad but eh!

I do love fashion though. I love haute couture, vintage dresses, and shoes. I stick to the style channel and watch the runway shoes in the US, Paris and Milan and I’ve made it to a few tent shows in Bryant Park thanks to some wonderful fashion intern friends (love you Caitie and Liss!) but I’m mostly too lazy.

So… that’s me in a fashion nut shell- on to the goods 🙂
